ABOUT

I blog to write, and I blog to keep me sane.  No theme....though special needs does feature quite a lot!

About me:

I used to be a party girl.  Now I'm a lone parent of three amazing children, living in Dublin and working at home as a full time carer.

The rest of the cast:

Angel is my lovely 22 year old who more than anyone else has got me through with her love and support.  Our relationship has survived the teen years, family life with two special needs siblings, an awful marriage breakdown, having money, not having money, and other stuff I can't think of right now.

Aspie Boy (aka CD) is my 14 year with Asperger's Syndrome.  I love him so much but his difficulties regularly break my heart.

Smiley is 18 and has severe physical and intellectual disabilities, and a diagnosis of cerebral palsy and something else not yet identified, but she is beautiful, lively, responsive and the happiest child you will ever meet.  Her start in life could not have been more difficult, and she still can't walk or talk and struggles with toilet training.  But every morning she opens her eyes with a big smile for me and I just melt :)
